Renowned for its precision engineering and durability, the company produces tubing that excels in resisting intergranular corrosion and performs reliably even at high temperatures. With cutting-edge manufacturing techniques and rigorous quality control, Blundell Pipes and Tubes guarantees that each product adheres to international standards. Stainless Steel 347 Tubing is perfect for demanding applications in the petrochemical, power generation, aerospace, and chemical sectors, offering long-lasting, heat-resistant, and corrosion-resistant solutions for critical systems and industrial operations.
Stainless Steel 347 Tubing is an austenitic stainless steel with a composition of 17–20% chromium, 9–13% nickel, and columbium (niobium) stabilization for resistance to intergranular corrosion. The stabilization prevents carbide precipitation on exposure to welding and high temperatures. The tubing provides a tensile strength of 515–750 MPa and yield strength of approximately 205 MPa. It has great mechanical properties and resistance to oxidation in environments up to 870°C and, therefore, is used best in systems that are cycled through repeated heating and cooling or pressure cycles.

This tubing is primarily made up of iron, chromium, nickel, and niobium, with a carefully controlled carbon content to boost its performance at high temperatures. Niobium plays a key role in stabilizing the steel, preventing the formation of chromium carbide and enhancing its resistance to intergranular corrosion. On the mechanical side, 347 tubing boasts impressive tensile and yield strength, toughness, and exceptional creep resistance when exposed to elevated temperatures. It also offers good weldability, oxidation resistance, and thermal stability, making it an excellent choice for industrial applications that demand long-term durability under heat, pressure, and corrosive conditions.
Blundell Pipes and Tubes, one of the largest suppliers of Stainless Steel 347 Tubing in Hamilton, New Zealand, offers a comprehensive range of high-quality pipes and tubes suitable for various industrial applications.
